History and Mission of AmP
The mission of Americans in Portugal (AmP), founded in 1998, is to enhance the quality of life of expatriate Americans, their spouses, significant others living in the Lisbon area and to promote favorable relations between Americans residing in Portugal and the Portuguese community. Our goals are:
- To provide a forum for the informal discussion of issues affecting Americans, their spouses and significant others living in Portugal
- To create and sponsor programs that address these needs and issues
- To disseminate information of importance to the American community in Portugal
- To cooperate with other groups and organizations in Portugal and elsewhere having similar goals and objectives.
AmP meets regularly, every few months, often with guest speakers or with roundtable topics, as well as cultural visits and charitable activities throughout the year. Most luncheons are open to guests as well.
We are a group of Americans and their families plus their "significant others" and friends.
We join together to discuss topics of releveance to Americans living in Portugal.
All club activities are conducted in English. We usually have an interesting speaker or panel discussion.
AmP meets regularly, every few months.
There are no dues or fees. Members and attendees pay only for their lunches (25 Euro) or special Club events.
